How my Experiences Prepared me for Communications Roles...

My prior experiences in NCAA Division I athletic communications have given me all of the skills and experiences your team is looking for. As an athletic communications director for NCAA DI athletics, I maintained and updated media guides and web stories, edited bios and statistical information, used AP writing style to draft press releases, media advisories, weekly news releases and flip cards, transcribed player and coach interviews, and organized and distributed news summaries when necessary.

I have served as the primary communications contact have experience working directly with local media and facilitated interview requests and serve as team representative during media opportunities. I am adept at researching sport information, statistics, milestones and records both live in-game and pregame to develop detailed game notes, as well as drafting, sending and posting press releases. I am proficient in the Adobe suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. I understand and have worked with players and staff in a professional manner.

My creative and journalistic writing skills, strong editorial instincts and comprehensive knowledge of the sports storylines enable me to craft compelling narratives that will capture the essence of an organization's brand and values.

My background in media relations and athletic communications has provided me a well-rounded skillset with sound writing, videography, and editing skills, and I have learned to successfully communications strategies from conceptualization to delivery.

As an executive assistant at NYRA, my administrative skillset was instrumental in facilitating collaboration across various departments. I am adept at advancing communication and ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed and aligned, which directly supports the culture and efficiency goals of our team.

One of my biggest values is communication. I believe a strong team is made up of collaborators who have great interpersonal communication and approach everything with a positive attitude.

I currently coach several age groups of Long Island Lightning AAU girl's basketball.  Becoming a youth coach has helped me reconnect with my passion for the sport. I've learned to understand the game at an even deeper level., and how to be responsible for strategic and tactical decisions. I'm also responsible for the well-being of each young girl I work with and hope to inspire them through hard work and passion. I have come to deeply enjoy sharing my skills and love of the game with young athletes. It’s exciting to watch their enthusiasm for the sport and their talent blossom.
